Light and privacy are provided for almost all the windows in the home through the use of mini blinds. There is a large selection of color and styles to make them a gorgeous accent to any room in the home.

The fact that there is little effort and minimal tools need to install them is one of the biggest pluses in using these throughout the home.

The material you chose for a mini blind is up to personal preferences.

Materials for Mini-Blinds

• Vinyl- Cheapest available only comes in standard sizes.
• Aluminum – Larger selection of colors and can be sized to order.
• Wood - The most expensive comes in different grains and colors.

When you are putting a treatment on the windows there are some things that have to be considered such as the way they will look, the amount of privacy provided and how much light they let in. You want a treatment that is not going to allow for a glare and will control the amount of sun let into the home. The amount of insulation they give to the home and how easy they are to use is another factor that has to be kept in mind with window treatments.

Mini blinds will most of this and they can be used with or without other coverings for the windows. They do not provide adequate insulation but are effective in the summer months due to blocking out the light from the sun. Light colors will reflect the light; if you prefer a darker color then duotone blinds will be the better choice. These have a reflective coloring on the back of the blind which makes them the right choice for areas with little privacy.

Mini-blind placement is about personal taste and choice.
